Shanghai Model Expo

Walkera exhibited at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, 2-4 June 2007. The Expo was opened by various officials and an impressive aerial rocket display filled the sky and rained multi- coloured confetti over the crowds below signaling that the expo was officially open. The highlight of the expo was the impressive stand staffed by the highly competent Walkera Management and Staff.
On display was the current Walkera product range (Nitro and Electric). New models on show were the re-designed 5#6, new 4#3(Fixed pitch) and 4G3(3D) range of micro helis. The Upgraded nitro model 83 with new Aluminum Head design is available as a RTF unit with the new 703 Digital Radio.

Factory visit.

As an authorized importer/distributor in South Africa of Walkera products it was an honour to be invited to the Walkera factory which is located in the province of Guangzhou, China. It was a privilege to witness the complete manufacturing process from inception to packaging, watching in detail how parts are made and how servos and brushless motors are hand assembled. Strict quality control methods are in place to comply with the R.O.H.S. policies in manufacturing- lead free solder and other environmentally-friendly practices are used in this process. Discussions took place with product engineers to better some of the products for the South African environment. Look out for the NEW model 76B (3D) complete Aluminum with Lipo battery.

The Owner of Walkera was made aware of the concerns of other importers in South Africa, in that a certain party claiming to be the ‘Sole Agent’ for their products, was claiming that only their "approved" models were genuine, and that all others were "FAKE". Many Walkera customers have been fed these false declarations. These concerns were met with disappointment and concern that this was happening as GUANGZHOU WALKERA TECHNOLOGIES, has not, or ever, given SOLE AGENCY or EXCLUSIVE distribution to ANY person or Business in South Africa.

The NAME and TRADEMARK are the property of WALKERA CHINA and NO COMPANY or GROUP of people in South Africa has any more right to use the name than the other.
The Walkera range of helicopters is of superior quality. They are very well received by all enthusiasts in South Africa, and there is certainly enough room to work together to grow the hobby. Please, therefore take all declarations and "mud slinging" with a pinch of salt- as we do.

CHEM SPEC/ VIRGINIA AIRSHOW 2007

It was time for the Durban Chemspec Air Show again at Virginia Airport on the 14th and 15th of July 2007. The 2 day event was full of entertainment for adults and children alike..... some 15000 visitors were estimated to have attended. Walkera RC helicopters were on display and received much interest throughout the weekend. Many smiling faces left the show with their box tucked neatly under their arm.
More proof that Walkera is still at the top of the pile, when it comes to choice!
